The heaviest programming this city has ever run through July and August is stacked at two addresses roughly a mile apart: Sugar Land Town Square at 2711 Plaza Drive, and Constellation Field at the corner of Highway 6 and US-90 Alternate. Between them, they hold the World Cup, the Space Cowboys' only long homestand of the season, and the debuts of three restaurants that residents have been waiting on since permits were filed last year.

Sugar Land's lone 12-game homestand of 2026 runs July 21 through August 2, when the club hosts the Nashville Sounds and the Salt Lake Bees back to back. The Nashville series, June 21 through 26, is the first home interleague series in franchise history, since the Sounds are a Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers rather than a Pacific Coast League opponent. Before any of that, Red, White and Boom returns to Constellation Field on July 4 from 6 to 10 p.m., timed to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Sugar Land residents can claim up to four complimentary tickets through the city's e-billing system, with access codes distributed by email to accounts on file as of June 11. Parking runs $7 per vehicle, cards only, in Lots A, B, and C.
Why Town Square is the other one
Sugar Land was named an official Houston World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter, and the practical result is that Town Square becomes the regional home base for match-day watch parties throughout the tournament. High-profile viewing days are scheduled around Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States Men's National Team matches, with the outdoor screen and the plaza absorbing crowds that would otherwise scatter across the region.
Admission is complimentary but ticketed, and each guest needs an individual reservation to enter. The June 11 and June 12 watch parties opened the run; programming continues through the tournament with what the city has described as complementary summer collaborations across dining, retail, and cultural venues around the Square.
For residents, the ambient effect matters more than any single match. Town Square becomes a place where a Wednesday afternoon has the density of a Saturday. That changes where you take out-of-town family, where you sit for an hour before a Space Cowboys game, and which restaurants will be worth calling ahead.
The food openings arriving mid-summer
Three restaurants tied to Sugar Land addresses are moving from permit stage into service between spring and late 2026. Each fills a different gap.
Insomnia Cookies is finishing an interior buildout at 2270 Lone Star Drive inside Town Square, with construction slated to wrap by mid-May and the doors opening in time for summer. The chain's late-night hours are the specific asset, since Town Square has historically emptied after the dinner rush.
Landry's Kitchen is taking over the 7,626-square-foot Brick House Tavern + Tap at 19740 S. Southwest Freeway. The conversion, filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, began in February and is expected to wrap by May 2026. Landry's Kitchen debuted in Corpus Christi in May 2025 as a Landry's Inc. concept leaning Southern and coastal — gumbo, crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice with fried fish and andouille, po'boys, burgers. A portion of the uncovered patio is being converted into a gated children's playground with a shade trellis and vertical louvers added, which is a specific bet on family traffic that Brick House was not chasing.
Mia's Table filed a permit for a 5,579-square-foot buildout at 15908 Lexington Blvd. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2026 with completion by December, which means the Sugar Land location will not open in time for this summer. Worth marking on the calendar for the fall opening rather than counting on for July.
There is one other opening residents should know about outside the two-address ring. Local Table, the Katy-based restaurant with a menu of shareable appetizers, pitas, sandwiches, pizzas, and salads, opened its sixth location in Missouri City on February 23, 2026. Close enough to count as part of the summer dining rotation.
A weekend template that only works this summer
Here is the specific claim: for eight or nine weekends between mid-June and early August, a Sugar Land resident can build a full Saturday inside a two-mile ring without touching the Southwest Freeway.
Morning at the Farmers Market at Imperial Park, which runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with live music and local vendors. The two anchors sit close enough that you can park once.

It exists this summer because three unrelated calendars — a global tournament, a minor league schedule, and a set of restaurant permits filed 18 months ago — happened to converge on the same season. Next summer, the World Cup will be gone. The Space Cowboys' 12-game homestand will move. Insomnia will be an established Town Square tenant rather than a new one.
Looking past the summer
The rest of the 2026 calendar at Town Square keeps building. Sugar Land Arts and Music Fest lands November 6, with Movies on the Square scheduling Back to the Future on August 8, Toy Story 5 on October 16, and The Grinch on December 19. Fall Fest returns to Town Square in September, and the Christmas Tree Lighting is set for November 20.
